Lamb


Greek: αρνιον [arnion] (Noun neuter). Sheep; ewe, ram or lamb. (originally a diminutive of αρην, αρνος [arên, arnos], a lamb; a sheep, whether ram or ewe,).

αρνιον [arnion] appears 30 times in the NT:


(1) John 21: 15
So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, [son] of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. - τα αρνια [ta arnia] Accus. pl.

(2) Revelation 5: 6
And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. - αρνιον [arnion] Nom. sing.
