Eucharist


Greek: ευχαριστια [eucharistia] (Noun feminine). From ευχαριστος [eucharistos]. Gratitude, thankfulness.

ευχαριστια [eucharistia] appears 15 times in the NT:


(1) Acts 24: 3
We accept it always, and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness. - ευχαριστιας [eucharistias] Gen. sing. ("with... thankfulness" - μετα ευχαριστιας [meta eucharistias]).

(2) 1 Corinthians 14: 16
Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest? - τη ευχαριστια [tê eucharistia] Dat. sing. ("at thy giving of thanks" - επι τη ση ευχαριστια [epi tê sê eucharistia] Lit: "on the your gratitude").

(3) 2 Corinthians 4: 15
