To be ashamed

Greek: επαισχυνομαι [epaischunomai] (Verb). To feel shame. To be ashamed at or of.

επαισχυνομαι [epaischunomai] appears 11 times in the NT:


(1, 2) Mark 8: 38
Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of¹ me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed², when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. - ¹επαισχυνθη [epaischunthê] Aorist Subjunctive Passive, 3 sing. / ²επαισχυνθησεται [epaischunthêsetai] Future Indicative Passive, 3 sing. ("of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed" - και ο υιος του ανθρωπου επαισχυνθησεται αυτον [kai ho huios tou anthrôpou epaischunthêsetai auton] Lit: "also the son of the man shall be being ashamed of him").
