Infirmity


Greek: ασθενεια [astheneia] (Noun feminine). Feebleness. Disease, infirmity, sickness, weakness.

ασθενεια [astheneia] appears 24 times in the NT:


(1) Matthew 8: 17
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare [our] sicknesses. - τας ασθενειας [tas astheneias] Accus. pl. ("our infirmities" - τας ασθενειας ημων [tas astheneias hêmôn] Lit: "the infirmities of us").

(2) Luke 5: 15
But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities. - των ασθενειων [tôn astheneiôn] Gen. pl. ("of their infirmities" - απο των ασθενειων αυτων [apo tôn astheneiôn autôn]).
