Adversary


Greek: αντιδικος [antidikos] (Noun masculine). From αντι [anti]; and δικη [dikê] "right", "justice": "an opponent in a suit at law". An adversary, enemy.

(1, 2) Matthew 5: 25
Agree with thine adversary¹ quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary² deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. - ¹τω αντιδικω [tô antidikô] Dat. sing.
