Greek: διαβολος [diabolos] (Adjective). A calumniator, false accuser, slanderer. Adversary. Devil.

διαβολος [diabolos] appears 38 times in the NT:



(1) Matthew 4: 1
Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. - του διαβολου [tou diabolou] Gen. sing. masc. ("of the devil" - υπο του διαβολου [hupo tou diabolou] Lit: "by the slanderer").

(2) Matthew 4: 5
