Star


Greek: αστηρ [astêr] (Noun masculine). A star.

αστηρ [astêr] appears 24 times in the NT:


(1) Matthew 2: 2
Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. - τον αστερα [ton astera] Accus. sing. ("his star" - αυτου τον αστερα [autou ton astera] Lit: "of him the star").

(2) Matthew 2: 7
Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. - του αστερος [tou asteros] Gen. sing.
