Baptism


Greek: βαπτισμα [baptisma] (Noun neuter). Immersion, submersion.

βαπτισμα [baptisma] appears 22 times in the NT:


(1) Matthew 3: 7
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? - το βαπτισμα [to baptisma] Accus. sing. ("to his baptism" - επι το βαπτισμα αυτου [epi to baptisma autou]).
